3DNPC.esp

Overview
This small patch addresses the issue of some mods removing certain placed objects in cells that were marked with a persistent record flag by Interesting NPCs. Basically, most of these persistent-flagged objects are furniture objects such as chairs which Interesting NPCs uses to start or progress quests (I am not sure what all of the flagged objects are flagged for, but some of them are needed to start quests related to NPCs in the Interesting NPCs mod). Some interior mods remove these objects which creates the problem with Interesting NPCs quests not starting/progressing. I have simply created a patch which restores these objects to the cells and places them somewhere where they are out of the way, do not clip anywhere, and are very near where they originally were.

What this patch does

Restore persistent objects that were removed by other mods

Move them somewhere out of the way, where they do not clip and are still accessible (when they need to be accessed, such as in the case of when the object is a furniture)

Records included in these patches are only the records of objects they're patching

What this patch does not do

Edit referenced objects

Edit sequence or script files

Restore objects not flagged by Interesting NPCs as persistent that are removed by other mods

I have not looked at all into the 3DNPC0.esp plugin, so this patch is a work in progress; I simply looked at 3DNPC.esp

Stop Nazeem from taunting you regarding the Cloud District

Coverage and Requests
Currently, this project only restores persistent objects removed by EEK's Whiterun Interiors SSE. If you want me to patch certain mods, just send me a message with a link to the mod that removes the persistent objects. I will not be creating patches for the beta/alpha versions of Interesting NPCs, I'm only addressing the one put up on the Nexus. Before you ask me to create a patch for it, please do these steps first to save our time:

Launch xEdit and load up all your plugins. Wait until xEdit's Background Loader is finished loading.

On the left pane, right click on any plugin and click Apply Filter to show Conflicts. Wait for the filter to finish applying. Once done, your plugins should appear red.

Go to 3DNPC.esp and open up all the records and the subrecords that are there. You are only looking for Placed Object records (which you will see right next to the FormID in xEdit. Ignore all other records. Click on a relevant record to see if another plugin is removing this placed object. If no other plugin edits the object, simply move on to another placed object record. If another plugin edits the object, you should check for whether the mod simply moves this object or removes it. If the other plugin displays at least two of these values on the View Pane: (a) Record Flags — Initially Disabled, (b) Position > Z — -30000.00, (c) Reference — PlayerRef [PLYR:00000014] > Flags — Set Enable State to Opposite of Parent. Refer to the images on this page to see what it looks like in xEdit. If the plugin overwriting this placed object has these values, get the FormID of that object and list it down. Repeat this step for all placed objects (don't worry, there are only a few of these in any given mod).

Following these simple steps can help me look very quickly for the objects and restore them to the cell. Obviously, if you're asking me to patch these, you're leaving it to my judgment where these objects should be restored physically in the cell. To simplify, I will always place the restored objects as close as possible to where they originally were, and try to make them fit in the surrounding area.

If my current patches contain errors or clipping or if I placed the objects in non-immersive positions (I cannot test each and everyone of them), please let me know so that I can move them around. Tell me details of where I should move them if my placements are not immersive/make no sense.

Other details

This current patch and all the subsequent patches I will upload on this mod page will all be ESPFEs (light-flagged normal plugins), so they will not count towards your load order

A FOMOD will be created if people ask for enough patches for other mods.

This patch does not use any assets from Interesting NPCs or any of the plugins that I'll be patching here, but the patches will have both 3DNPC.esp and the plugin of the mod it patches as Masters so that it will be sorted properly by LOOT. With that said, it is important to note that you should not use xEdit's Clean Masters on these patches, because xEdit will remove the masters and you might not be able to sort them properly and the records they patch will likely become overwritten again by the mods they need to patch. Setting these as masters will also help you know to uninstall my patches if you uninstall the mods that they patch. Again, do not run xEdit'sClean Masters on these patches.

Always run LOOT after you install this mod. Otherwise, simply place lower than 3DNPCs.esp and the mods they're patching.

Installation
(Recommended) Install normally as you would with your mod manager.
Or manually install by dropping the plugin files in your Data directory.
Uninstall by reversing your installation method. Or simply throw your PC out the window.

Compatibility
Technically compatible with all other plugins but will be overwritten by mods that edit the same placed objects. Simply launch LOOT and create a rule for my patch to load after that mod. Once you launch LOOT, go to my patch plugin, and click the three vertically-arranged dots on the card's upper-right corner. Click on Edit Metadata. Click on the Load After tab. Click ADD NEW ROW. On the Filename field, type in the name of the plugin that would overwrite my patch's edits. Type the same value in Display Name. Hit the blue save icon that looks like a floppy disk. Sort your plugins and hit Apply once it's done sorting.

Performance
This only restores chairs and furniture, usually around three to four per cell. Has no performance impact.

Known Existing Patches
This is a list of patches that already does what my patches do for some other mods. If you know of similar patches, please comment here or message me so I can list them down here and users can install those instead.

JK's Sleeping Giant Inn — a patch is already available from JK's Interiors Patch Collection by Janquel.
