Hi everyone! The M1919A6, introduced in late 1943, was an attempt to create a light machine gun capable of being carried and operated by one man, comparable to German machine guns like the MG42. The M1919A6 featured a shoulder stock, bipod, carry handle, conical muzzle booster (on later models) and a lighter, changable barrel. The barrel weight on the M1919A4 was already marginal in terms of heat dissipation, and lightening the barrel in the M1919A6 made for a weapon that was prone to overheating and was large, heavy and awkward compared to the majority of contemporary machine guns. The original M1919A6 lacked a muzzle booster due to the need to have an exposed hex on the muzzle to allow the barrel to be changed. This led to problems cycling the action so a removable muzzle booster was added to increase the chamber pressure. At the end of WWII, a conical flash hider was introduced as part of the muzzle booster, but contrary to the majority of depictions in media, this was never actually issued before the end of the war (although it was extensively used in Korea). This mod replaces the M60 slot in the game (no scripts included).

Olá a todos! O M1919A6 é uma variante da metralhadora original calibre .30 M1919 projetada por John M. Browning. Lançado no final de 1943, a variante M1919A6 foi uma tentativa de criar uma metralhadora leve capaz de ser carregada e operada por um único homem e ao mesmo tempo, sendo equivalente às metralhadoras alemãs como a MG42. O M1919A6 apresentava uma coronha para apoio no ombro, bipé, alça de transporte, reforço cônico no cano (em modelos posteriores) e além também de possuir um cano mais leve e substituível. O peso do cano no M1919A4 já era grotesco em termos de dissipação de calor, e diminuir o peso do cano no M1919A6 acabou sujeitando a metralhadora a situações de superaquecimentos. Seu aspecto de arma pesada e estranha era um tanto quanto diferente se comparado com a maioria das metralhadoras contemporâneas. O M1919A6 original não tinha um reforço na saída do cano devido à necessidade de ter um hexágono exposto na boca do cano para permitir a troca do cano mais facilmente. Isso fez com que a arma apresentasse problemas no seu ciclo de funcionamento, então um reforço de boca removível foi adicionado para aumentar a pressão da câmara de explosão. No final da Segunda Guerra Mundial, uma boca cônica foi adicionada para reforçar a saída do cano, mas ao contrário da maioria das divulgações nas mídias, ela nunca foi realmente usada antes do final da guerra (embora tenha sido amplamente utilizado na Coréia).
