Mod

相容性

Tired of your immersion breaking by having to reload to your last save when you die, or using a death mod that has you hiking across Tamriel just to get killed at the same spot again?
Stay In The Fight is a simple, configurable, and lightweight alternative death mod that keeps you fighting when you should have passed on. The catch? Your life is spared at the cost of your equipped gear, weapons, gold, dragon souls, and skills, before finally taking your life. Perfect for hard playthroughs.


The Mod
- The Gods have brought a Dragonborn into existence for a purpose, so its important for them to protect their asset, but only while its to their benefit.
- When you die you will be knocked to the ground and the gods will make you briefly ethereal. Sparing your life will demand sacrifices, and you will lose important possessions in exchange for sparing your soul.
- So instead of replaying the same sections over and over when you get one shot killed frequently, put on some replacement armor and stay in the fight.
- Each option can be toggled on or off, but on the default settings, death will cost you 3 'sacrifices' starting with your equipped armor. Without armor, your weapons will be sacrificed, then a percentage of your gold with each sacrifice until only 100 gold is left (carriage money). After that, your dragon souls will be taken, then your skills will be targeted if they're above level 15. When you have nothing left to give, you can choose death or banishment as the outcome.
- Note that equipped quest items generally aren't safe (keep reading), so don't wear what you don't want to lose. Unequipped inventory items won't be touched unless you choose banishment, then they're gone. You can set one slot as protected so that it cant be removed (i.e. if your lantern is slot 55 and you want to keep it, you can set slot 55 to safe).
- If you're unprepared, you may find yourself, naked, weaponless, and broke, attempting to pummel a dragon with your bare fists before finally being sent to Sovngarde... this will change how you view preparing for combat.
- Option to change number of sacrifices, ethereal length, gold lost, etc in MCM
- Button to jolt the player if they go down on a bush or in a weird circumstance
- With banishment, the Gods take all they can from you (your inventory items and gold) and you are sent to the throat of the world to think it over / start fresh


Compatibilities
- This mod will force a fast recovery from any low health bleedout state, and therefore may shorten any bleedout events. For example: using player.kill when essential will just cause normal bleedout, but a brawl will knock you into low health and trigger this mod.
- Defeat (I know a lot of people use this LL mod): 
- I spent some time to make sure SITF plays well (enough) with Defeat. If you are using the wound, exhaustion, or stun mechanics in "player as victim", set knockout chance to 100% so that the knockout event overrides the bleedout when your player goes down. Testing shows this works fine. No knockout means no bleedout event.
- Essential on bleedout works despite the lack of knockout but sometimes the animations for your character spin it 90 degrees. Just use the 'help I'm stuck' option in SITF's MCM after the animation completes to jolt and reset your player.

Installation:
- Install normally and activate in the MCM to begin
- Turn the mod off in the MCM before uninstalling

- I'd love to know what you think and if you run into any issues
- I finally decided to jump into the modding world after trying as many death mods as I could find and not really finding what I was looking for. This will probably start a spiral, as I find papyrus pretty straight forwards and enjoyed making this.
- Special thanks to the mod-making community for have a ton of forums to scroll through, videos to view, and attaching their source code to the mods, I'll be sure to do the same
