This is a reworked version of one of my older mods. It adds a dialogue option to certain actors for the player to pet them. This works by relying on the actors' voice types, for instance if they use one of the canine (dog, wolf, death hound, fox, husky) voice types, or NPCs if their relationship rank with the player is 2 (friends) or higher.
Some things I changed from the original mod is that I deleted the race modifications from cattle, and removed some of the responses from NPCs.
I can confirm that this mod works best on creature followers or creature subraces that have dialogue enabled, such as vanilla dogs/huskies, Dovahbear, Killer Rabbit, and Mihail's House Cats. The cats from said mod technically use the Skeever voice type and when you attempt to pet them, they will either purr or they will sniff at your hand curiously.
I can also confirm that this mod doesn't seem to interfere with Convenient Horses in my game, you'll still be able to pet horses as long as you're standing right in front of them.
Non-companions don't always seem to stand still when you're petting them.
On a personal note, I only wanted to tweak this mod and move it to this account so I'm not really interested in working on updates. Plus that I lost the script sources for this mod.
