HIGH LEVEL GEAR

Have you ever been "late" for some faction questline, such as the Companions', and then they give you their super cool armor set, and you're like "Yay, finally some neat Wolf Armor" and then you look at the stats and are like, "Whaa--? How is this worse than even DWARVEN even though it's supposed to be Skyforge steel??" and then you put the Wolf Armor on a Mannequin and that's it? Well, no more. With this mod, you can take your precious reward to any forge and make it better.

This mod is aimed at role players who feel like one particular set of (Vanilla) armor fits best for their character, but are then forced by the game to use armor that doesn't fit as they progress and gain higher levels because the stats of the armor they would like to use (i.e. Iron Armor for the Dragonborn of the launch trailers, or Hide/Fur for a Bandit type character) are abysmally low. Includes all Guard armors, in case you feel like an arrow in the knee is what you really need at this point in your life.

This mod adds crafting recipes for top-tier versions of all low and mid level Vanilla armors and weapons. These new items are not replacers but can be crafted at any forge using the original piece of equipment plus one Daedra Heart. The new recipes will only show up in the crafting menu if you are at least lvl50, and have the base piece of equipment in your inventory. Since the express goal of this mod is to open up role-playing choices, no smithing or perk requirements have been set as that would force players into pursuing that particular perk tree.

Stalhrim, Dragon, and Daedric gear are already top tier and therefore excluded.

All LIGHT ARMOR has the same armor rating:
- Cuirass 40
- Boots 12
- Gauntlets 12
- Helmet 16
- Shield 30
--> TOTAL: 80+30 (Dragonscale is 83+29, Stalhrim is 78.5+29.5)

All HEAVY ARMOR has the same armor rating:
- Cuirass 48
- Boots 18
- Gauntlets 18
- Helmet 21
- Shield 35
--> TOTAL: 105+35 (Daedric is 108+36, Stalhrim and Dragonplate are 102+34)

Most WEAPONS have the same damage as their Dragonbone counterparts. If there are two versions of the same weapon (e.g. regular and Honed), the non-elite version has its stats lowered by 1.

Crit damage has been adjusted accordingly, but no other values (e.g. weight, value, weapon speed, ...) have been edited.

This mod does NOT touch unique enchanted gear! There are other mods for that. It does, however, include high level variants of some unenchanted unique gear, such as the Worn Shrouded Armor. Some items that previously had the "DisallowEnchanting" keyword (e.g. parts of the Dawnguard gear) have had that removed if there wasn't actually an enchantment on the piece of equipment. Any descriptions (Silver and Dawnguard gear) have also been removed, but the scripts that allow for the extra effects remain in place.

NOTE: As of v2.0, smithing keywords that permit Legendary tempering have been added to those armors that didn't have them in the Vanilla game. In most cases, that was Steel Smithing, so look in the Steel section at the forge if you can't find an item anywhere else.



Future Plans & Requests
A version that includes Immersive Armors is something I'd like to make, but that depends on whether I manage to contact Hothtrooper or not. Still waiting for permission to patch my other mod. Also, making a mod like this is super boring (probably the reason why I haven't found anything similar on the Nexus), so I'd need an afternoon of intense nothing-to-do-ness in order to get to work on that.



Compatibility
Since this mod only adds stuff and doesn't edit any leveled lists or have any dependencies whatsoever, it should be compatible with literally everything. Requires Dawnguard and Dragonborn. Also, since all the "new" items are duplicates of Vanilla items with better stats, any and all mesh or texture replacers that use the Vanilla file paths should automatically apply to the high level versions as well.



Install/Uninstall
Place the ESP in your Data folder (or let NMM do it for you). Remove it if you don't like it anymore. Should be safe, except of course you'll lose all the high level gear you crafted.



Permissions
You may not upload this anywhere else without my permission. You may under no circumstances charge money for this mod. Modding is free and should remain that way.



Changes

v2.0
- Added Smithing keywords to those items that didn't have them. When tempered, most of these special items (e.g. Guard armor, Forsworn stuff, Blades Armor) now benefit from the Steel Smithing perk, and Falmer gear from the Elven Smithing perk.
- Tweaked the stats of a few items that have two versions so that these versions are also distinguishable stat-wise (e.g. Bonemold vs. Improved Bonemold, Stormcloak vs. Heroic Stormcloak). Falmer armor now has three tiers: Regular is 1 worse for each of the four armor pieces, Hardened has the standard High Level Gear armor stats, Heavy is 1 better per piece.
- Tweaked a few tempering ingredients. I'm open to suggestions here if you feel like a specific item doesn't fit for a weapon or piece of armor. No Leather, Iron Ingots, or Steel Ingots though, those are a little *too* easy to come by.
