这将与Alaebasta的《 Pick Up Books-Simple SE》相冲突，因为这两个mod的功能大致相同，但方式略有不同。选择最喜欢的Mod，但只选择一个。
This rebuild of "Sometimes Pick Up Books" by Mardoxx and CDCooley gives you the option to take or steal books without reading them.
Draw a weapon, ready a spell, or raise your fists to pick up a book without reading it. To steal a book you'll need to be sneaking too.
How to Read, Take, or Steal books
In Skyrim when you activate a book the game usually forces you to read it before you can pick it up. (Although spell books and a few quest related notes and books are an exception to that rule.) This mod doesn't change that default action when you don't have a weapon drawn, magic readied, or fists raised.
If you do have your weapon drawn, magic readied, or fists raised then the book will not be opened for reading. What does happen depends on the book and whether you are also sneaking.
If you are also sneaking, the book will be added directly to your inventory. If taking the book would be considered stealing the normal theft alarm system will be activated. (Hopefully your sneak skill is high enough that you don't get caught.)
If you are not sneaking, the book will be added directly to your inventory only if taking it wouldn't be considered stealing. If taking it would be stealing you'll get a failure sound effect and you can then either lower your weapon/spell/fists and read it normally or go into sneak mode and steal it.
Limitations and Annoyances
Since this mod does not use SKSE some features of the original mod aren't possible, others don't work quite as well, and there are no options to configure here.
The activation prompt won't be changed to Take or Steal. You'll need to remember that you can only avoid reading a book if your hands are raised and that you can only steal a book if you are also sneaking.
It is possible to take some notes and books that need to be read by activating them in the game world (instead of reading them from your inventory) to advance quests. In every case I've found so far if you pick up one of those notes or books you can drop it back into the game world and activate it to update the quests. But I strongly encourage you to make regular saves just in case you pick up a book and later realize you've broken a quest by not reading it immediately as the quest creator expected.
The set of conditions used to determine if taking the book would be stealing (or if you shouldn't be able to take the book at all) aren't as reliable as the SKSE functions used by the original mod. You might be allowed to take things you shouldn't or not be allowed to take things when you should. Hopefully those cases are rare. The most likely situtation is in homes of your friends where taking low-value books might be allowed by the game but will be counted as stealing.
Known Mod Conflicts
This will conflict with Alaebasta's Pick Up Books - Simple SE since the two mods do roughly the same thing but in slightly different ways. Pick whichever mod you like best but pick only one.
