I recently began a hardcore vampire character and was searching for a small player home to use in the early game. This would serve as my own dark hole in the ground where I keep my thralls, and retreat in the hours of daylight. Unfortunately, no such mod exists that tailors to my tastes. They are all too large or have too many features, so I made Sanguine Lair. This is a small excavated Imperial bunker, once inhabited by a young Vampire who was recently slain by the Dawnguard. Now, it lies dormant and ready to be claimed by another.
Sanguine Lair contains a few features that befit the needs of a common vampire. There are no mannequins or dedicated artifact displays. This is the home of a bloodthirsty beast, not an art gallery. It consists of a short entryway, an atrium with a surrounding overlook, and a private room. The previous owner left behind some provisions that are now yours, as well as the spoils of the battle that took place here. There are several shelves and containers to put any items of interest you collect. The lair also contains the following facilities-
- Enchanting Table
- Alchemy Table
- Cooking Pot
- Cattle Cages (Better Vampires is highly recommended. You will be able to keep your thralls from that mod in these cages)
- Safe Storage
Sanguine Lair is located north of Riften, tucked away under a rocky mound. Nearby, you will find many settlements that will serve as feeding grounds and sources of new thralls. You will begin the game with it marked on your map.
This makes a minor landscape edit to the Tamriel cell (42, -21), which is just north of Riften. Other than that, I can't imagine any other conflicts.
Requires Dawnguard and the official Update.
If you encounter any bugs, conflicts or gaps, report it and I'll fix it if I get the time. You can also just edit the home yourself in the CK and publish a patch if you like, but please don't upload my files anywhere without my permission.
