Introduction
Modding Skyrim for Dummies is a simple and easy to follow guide on how to install a stable list of mods. The purpose of this guide is to give you a base mod list that will enhance the graphical appearance and improve gameplay, while keeping the vanilla feeling and art style of the game.
Although the guide is mostly for new players that have decided to mod their game, can still be useful for advanced users as a source of finding mods that maybe haven't try yet.
I tried to keep things as simple as possible. Though, some basic knowledge of how your operating system is working is required. I mean that you should know how to install a program, copy/paste files, use simple applications like 7-zip etc. Screenshots will be provided for more complicate tasks.
The guide is separated in 5 major sections:
A. Preparation
B. Core Mods
C. Visual & Audio Mods
D. Gameplay Mods
E. Final Mods
Every mod in the guide that requires SKSE will be marked with (SKSE64) so you can easily track the mods you will need to update if a new version of SKSE is released. You will find in the guide some mods that are optional marked with the (OPTIONAL) tag. That doesn't mean that all other mods without the optional tag are mandatory. If you don't like a mod suggested by this guide do not use it or find an alternative on Nexus.
Things you won't find in the guide:
- You won't find multiple suggestions or alternative mods for the same thing. For example there are many mods that re-texture the mountains of the game. Or change the weather. Here you will find only one suggested mod.
- You won't find not-lore friendly mods. So, don't expect to find armors, hair-styles, textures and in general items that don't fit the world of Skyrim.
- You won't find major gameplay overhaul mods or mods that add/change too many things.
- You won't find mods that require a lot of patches to work correctly with other mods.
My pc specs:

I can run the game with all the mods of the guide installed at stable 60fps in most areas of the game.
So, the main goals of the guide are:
- Keep things simple and build a stable mod list
- Improve gameplay and visuals
- Keep the vanilla feeling of the game
- And finally to actually play the game
Take your time and don't hurry. You don't have to install all the mods in one day. Modding is a time consuming process. Always read carefully the description of each mod you download. Mod authors provide useful info about installation, compatibility, requirements and load order in their descriptions. And don't forget to endorse the mods you actually use and like.

Texture mods and resolution:
Choose to download textures that your pc can handle. Don't blindly download the highest available.
When there are more than one resolutions available for a texture mod, i usually choose the 2K version. But there are some 4K mods included in the guide.
