Ever get excited to enchant The Longhammer, only to be confounded by only being able to get a single one? This mod aims to fix that!
Description
This mod adds a crafting recipe to the game for the unique item The Longhammer. You can find this light-weight warhammer in Liar's Retreat as part of an undocumented quest.
The bad news is you only get 1 per playthough! Many of my build ideas have ended here, as I lose interest in the character by the time all my crafting skills level enough to be worthy of this masterpiece!
Installation
Place in your Data folder, or use a mod installer of your choice. This is a single .ESP file, so it should be simple either way.
Uninstallation should be a similarly simple matter. Just remove the LonghammerCraftingRecipe.esp
NOTE: While the simplicity of this mod should minimize possibility of errors, you change your active mods mid-game AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Details
This adds a note to the dead body of Rahd, the previous owner of The Longhammer. You can claim both your hammer and this note at the same time, keeping the mod as lore-friendly as possible. The crafting recipe is slightly altered from vanilla orcish warhammers -- this requires less orichalcum and more iron to simulate the lower weight.
To reduce crafting clutter, you must have the note "Forging Longhammer" in your inventory for The Longhammer to appear in your crafting menu. You also need the perk "Orcish Smithing", because that just makes sense :/
This is a relatively simple mod. It adds unique items via creation kit and is script free. You should be able to install mid-game without worry, though you do so at your own risk. By the same token, sorting should be a simple matter. It should not conflict with anything that doesn't change Rahd's body in Liar's Retreat. If you have a mod that does change this location, you can add the note to your inventory by searching "longhammer" in your console menu
