Sadly Necessary Foreward
A necessary bit of boilerplate. The Nexus is the only legitimate locations where you should find this mod. If you find it in any other location, particularly if that location has required you to pay to be able to download the mod, be aware that someone who isn't me is providing unauthorised (that is, pirated) and unsupported goods and you should avoid them. It might be nice to tell me about it too :)
One night a while ago Sven in Riverwood and a few friends got drunk. Very drunk. They decided that it would be an amazing idea to see how many copies of Sven it would take to completely cross the bridge out of town, if they laid down end-to-end.
Since there was only one actual Sven there they decided the best way to do this was to get him lay down for a stretch, mark where his head (or feet) reached, then get him to lay down again with his head or feet against the mark so they could mark the next stretch, and so-on.
Well, that was the intent, anyway. Like I said, they were very drunk. Very very drunk. A couple of times Sven lay down again in the space just measured. Sometimes he stretched out, other times he tried to curl up. At one point he lay down and fell asleep and they could not get him up again, so they had to make some marks at where they'd estimate he'd be if he was still capable of being used as a measuring stick. However, his friends were also very very drunk and their estimation skills were somewhat impaired.
The end result is a set of paint marks across the parapet of the Riverwood bridge, spaced not very evenly at all at intervals that might plausibly correspond to the length of a Nord. If you squinted. And were drunk.
They came to the conclusion that the bridge is around 15 and a half Svens long.
This just adds a set of paint marks on the Riverwood bridge. That's all. Really. There are no quests. No funky armours or weapons. Just splodges of paint. Nothing more.
It's a joke mod, and you should either thank or blame jknjb for providing me "encouragement" to get this done.
The whole mod is actually a reference to a real-world event. Your prize for working out what that event was is a legitimate right to feel smugly self-satisfied about yourself for a few minutes. I hasten to add that the only similarity between this mod and the real-world event are some marks across a bridge - the story I've constructed behind those marks in this mod bears no intentional similarity to any story behind any real-world marks across any real-world bridge.
This being a joke mod I've not spent a huge amount of effort worrying about compatibility. It should work with anything that does not radically change the bridge (eg, replace it with a completelty differently bridge) or move the bridge. It looks fine with or without SMIM, and it also works fine with Skyrim Bridges (as that does not alter Riverwood's bridge itself, it just adds a roof). It is also perfectly compatible with ETaC.
Download the archive, look inside the archive. Copy the contents of "Data" to your game's Data directory. Using your mod management tool of preference, make sure that SPTSvenMarks.esp is enabled (if you aren't seeing that mod in your mod list, you've not installed the files correctly).
To uninstall, disable SPTSvenMarks.esp. You can also just delete SPTSvenMarks.esp and SPTSvenMarks.bsa.
Thanks to jknjb for "encouragement" and also for beta testing. Thanks to Bethesda for making a game and modding tools that allow me to construct feeble jokes like this.
