It was always a bit annoying to me how bandits can chop your head off and have 5-10 perks but almost no follower had any improvement of that sort. So this mod enhances every follower in vanilla Skyrim and makes all of them protected or essential, and all followers have a max level of 60 (with a few exceptions that I will point out). I will not mention the perks they have in the vanilla game, unless I removed them. You can see the full list in SSEdit, it's not hard to use.
About compatibility: it is not compatible with mods that modify the same NPCs. Making patches is, however, very easy. Here's a link to a video that explains how to make one very easily.
